Only 15 minutes from the airport, the Kelvin Heights pier is a stunning hidden gem that is both accessible and breathtaking. The wooden pier takes you out onto Lake Wakatipu, providing stunning views wherever you look… including down! The water is crystal clear and particularly spectacular when illuminated by the sun, bringing alive the many tones of aqua, blue and turquoise.

When should we go?

This spot is gorgeous all year round, however we find it is particularly stunning during Autumn and it’s because of this tree!

What should we wear?

In terms of what to wear; stick to neutrals, nudes or earthy tones. Blue tones also work well here due to the beautiful colour of the lake! Avoid wearing jarring colours and patterns if possible.
